Dear parents & carers,
This week our Yr 2 learning was moderated via the School Improvement Team for Luton Borough Council. This meant that external moderators thoroughly looked at the reading, writing and maths in the year group, checking that our teachers were assessing our children correctly. Another rigorous process for our team, just after Ofsted! We have had very positive feedback indeed. Thank you to all involved for yet again demonstrating the high quality teaching and learning at our school.
Thank you to the parents that attend the RSHE resource sharing sessions. I very much appreciate the open and frank conversations and hope the sessions were reassuring. You will be informed by year leaders when the lessons will take place, so you can talk to your children in advance.
A reminder that all children should dismount their bikes and scooters on entering the school premises. There are a great deal of people here, so this will help with safety. Many thanks.
Class Photos will be taken on the 15th June - please come in school uniform. These are group, not individual photos. If children have PE or a sports activity they will change for that lesson.
Shortly teachers will be assigned to their year groups and classes for 2023/24. We are mixing the most of the year groups. This is important for a number of reasons:
- Creating opportunities for children to learn and play with a wider variety of peers.
- Enabling greater social interaction between children as they move through the school.
- Ensure we redress the balance in response to pupil development and mobility.
- Children respond differently to different teachers and peers - we aim to match your child to the best grouping for them.
We will put your child with one friend of their choosing, however this is not our main priority. This should become routine for our children and be addressed as a positive opportunity.
Our term dates and INSET (teacher training) Days for 2023/24 are HERE. Please make sure you note the training days, we had quite a few families arrive last Monday. Attendance is hugely important with new Government regulations will come into effect on September 1st. Please do not book holidays during term time. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend - enjoy the sunshine.
