Dear parents & carers,
Another brilliant week at Bushmead. The team is currently completing Pupil Progress meetings where we discuss each class and the progress children have been making. We talk about what actions we are taking to improve pupils' learning and how to ensure that their current achievements continue throughout the year. For me, the best part is hearing how far children have come and how hard teachers are working to meet individual needs.
Attendance, attendance, attendance! Bushmead families tend to have a lot of absences before and after a school holiday, it has an impact! Absence has a significant effect on attainment and well-being. Obviously, there are times when children are sick and have to stay at home, but please make sure that holidays are booked in the 12 weeks available to you. I know that most families work hard to ensure that their children don't miss school and that is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
There is an update on guidance regarding Strep A & Scarlet Fever and Covid 19. Please check our Health & Medicine page.
Please, please park your care respectfully. You must not park in the doctors' surgery as you are preventing sick and elderly patients from accessing the door. Please do not park on or across our neighbours' drives. We hope to have a good relationship with the surrounding community.
A message from LBC: Councils across the country, including Luton, are asking local residents their views on a range of transport related topics and highways services. If you live or work in Luton we'd love to hear your feedback by completing the survey links. We are asking local people for their views on highways and transport services in Luton. What you say will help us understand where improvements need to be made and to understand what issues are important to residents. There are seven themed surveys available for you to fill in. You can fill in as many as you feel are relevant to you. Answers to the surveys will be compared to responses received in other areas across the country. Surveys will close on 28th February 2023.

From Mrs Turner our Librarian: If you have any good quality books you are willing to donate, we would be happy to take them. The authors we are interested in are David Walliams, Pichon (Tom Gates titles) and Jeff Kinney (Diary of the Wimpy Kid series) as children can't seem to get enough of these! Thank you.
Well-being Week - Blue Monday is known as the `saddest` day of the year. We want to banish the January Blues, so children can dress in bright practical clothing on 16th January! Make sure it is suitable if children have PE. Throughout the week children will be undertaking well-being activities. You should also have received a letter via ParentMail explaining our well-being survey for KS2 children. We are looking forward to the results and acting on what children have to say.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Kind regards,
Joanne Travi
