Dear parents & carers
Thank you for your generous contributions to Bushmead in Bloom - the children love planting and looking after the plants. We will complete work around the subject too. THANK YOU.
This half-term, our well-being theme is mindfulness. We endeavour to teach children about recognising their emotions as well as techniques as to how to control them. Mental health and well-being are at the forefront of all that we do at school. We know that if children are anxious or stressed they are less likely to learn.
If your child needs some support there is help for families:

In the summer term we will be teaching our Relationships, Sex & Health Education (RSHE) lessons. These 3 or 4 lessons from part of our Personal, Social, Health & Economic curriculum. Relationships Education is a statutory part of the curriculum from Yr R - 5, all children must take part. In Yr 6, where we teach reproduction alongside our science curriculum, parents can ask that their children opt out as this constitutes sex education.
We encourage parents to speak with their children before they take place and invite any parents that haven't seen our resources to come in and review the lesson content, they remain exactly the same as last year.
- 9.00 - 10.00am - Tuesday 6th June
- 5.30 - 6.30pm - Wednesday 7th June
If you cannot make this dates please contact the school office. Year leaders will inform parents of the exact dates these lessons will take place.
All our resources are approved by the PSHE Association (DfE) and Luton Borough Council. Further information about our curriculum and advice on speaking with your child are on our website: Personal, Social, Health and Economics (PSHE) and RSHE
