Computing

Computing at Bushmead

At Bushmead Primary School, we value the importance of technology in the lives and futures of our children. In a rapidly developing technological world, we understand the need to provide our children with the skills required to be confident when working with a wide range of technology. To enable children to develop their computing and technology skills, we deliver Purple Mash units of work which children have access to in school and at home. These lessons develop 5 key areas: Online Safety; Programming; Handling Data; Multimedia and Technology in Our Lives. The school's Computing Progression document helps us to ensure that these skills are built upon each year.

We also provide opportunities for our children to use a range of computing skills across the curriculum through our range of technological equipment. This includes iPads, iPod touches, BeeBots, cameras and green screen technology plus much more.

As children leave Bushmead Primary School in Year 6, we aim for them to be Computer Scientists who are prepared for the ever-changing digital world, who will know how to use a range of technology confidently, responsibly and safely.
